Athletic Competition

The Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged offers competition in a variety of adapted sports, plus fitness for young people with physical challenges. The program is available at no cost to athletes and spectators and is lovingly supported by the unselfish efforts of loyal volunteers.

Sports achievement emphasizes the ability of the athlete and develops confidence and positive self-esteem. Success encourages an interest in sports activity and lays the foundation for the athlete to continue on to adult competition, if they chose.

The Games believe that all athletes with a physical challenge should have the opportunity to explore and grow their own strengths through everyday challenges. The Games provide a safe place filled with friendly volunteers and staff that truly embody our mission and values.
